Releasing the video on X (earlier Twitter), director Meghna Gulzar wrote, ‘This is for the Indian Army, our country and countrymen. It is a great honor for us to get a chance to show a glimpse of the life of India’s greatest soldier, Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw.
Sam Bahadur is based on the life of India’s first Field Marshal Sam HFJ Manekshaw.

The trailer launch of Sam Bahadur was held at Manekshaw Centre, Delhi. Vicky Kaushal, Sanya Malhotra, Fatima Sana Shaikh, and Meghna Gulzar were present at the launch. Fatima Sana Shaikh played the role of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in the film.
